Sports RAJAR still growing

07th August 2014

Sport Editor Gareth Jones and his excellent team are continuing to enjoy great success with their RAJAR figures.

The latest figures show BBC Radio Leeds' West Yorkshire Sport Saturday programme (2-6pm) has continued to gain listeners. Well over 40,000 tune in every Saturday, a rise over 72% on the year.

Added to this, West Yorkshire Sport Daily (weeknights 6-7pm) enjoys a 38% share of the market for that particular time slot - an outstanding acheivement for any programme to gain at that time of day.

West Yorkshire Sport programming also remains in the top 5 of the most listened to online and "listen again" programmes in the whole BBC Local Radio network.

BBC Radio Leeds' Yorkshire cricket commentary is the most listened to cricket programme online within the BBC and one of the most listened to sports programmes in general.

Thank you to everyone listening, you make the shows.
