Gareth Hosts Rugby Awards

01st June 2017

Gareth had the honour of hosting the Yorkshire RFU's first ever Rugby Union Volunteer Recognition Awards.

The evening was hosted at Leeds Beckett University, with Gareth acting as Master of Ceremonies, as the County celebrated the great work of rugby volunteers across Yorkshire.

The Yorkshire rugby regions have always hosted awards for their volunteers, but this was the first time the county had all come together to for a Yorkshire wide Awards evening.

There were 10 Awards presented on a glitzy evening in Leeds, including Student Volunteer; Minis; Young; Seniors; Women & Girls; and the President’s Award.

"It was an honour to be asked to be involved in such a wonderful evening," said Gareth.

"It was an inspiring night that the whole game in Yorkshire should be very proud. The organisers, Toni and Sally, did an incredible job.

"It was great to meet so many fantastic rugby people and hear about the great work they do. It reminds us all how vital volunteers are to rugby union."
